Privacy policy

Plain-English answers about what we collect, why, and what your rights are.

Who we are

Bright London Care Ltd (“we”, “us”) of Jhumat House, 160 London Road, Barking IG11 8BBis the data controller for personal information collected through this website. We are registered with the Information Commissioner’s Office and regulated by the Care Quality Commission. Questions about this policy can be sent to info@brightlondoncare.co.uk.

What we collect and why

Contact enquiries — your name, contact details and message, used solely to respond to you. Legal basis: legitimate interest.

Job applications — the information you provide in the application form, including identity documents, employment history, references, qualifications, and health and immunisation information, together with equal opportunities monitoring data you choose to give. We use it to assess your suitability for a care role, meet our legal obligations as a regulated care provider (including CQC regulations and safer recruitment requirements), and prepare for employment checks such as an enhanced DBS disclosure. Legal bases: taking steps to enter an employment contract, legal obligation, and — for health information — employment law obligations under Article 9(2)(b) UK GDPR. Equal opportunities data is optional and used only in anonymised form to monitor our recruitment policy.

Where your data lives

Application data and uploaded documents are stored in a secured, access-controlled database and private file storage. Access is limited to staff involved in recruitment. Documents are never sent over email or shared with third parties except where the law requires (for example, DBS or right-to-work verification).

How long we keep it

Unsuccessful application records are kept for 12 months from decision, then securely deleted. Successful applicants’ records become part of their staff file and are retained in line with employment and CQC record-keeping requirements. Contact enquiries are kept for up to 12 months.

Your rights

You can ask for a copy of your data, ask us to correct it, ask us to delete it, or withdraw an application at any time by contacting info@brightlondoncare.co.uk. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ico.org.uk).

Cookies

This site does not use advertising or tracking cookies, so no cookie consent banner is needed. The only cookie we set is a strictly necessary login session cookie for our own staff when they sign in to the admin area. Your in-progress job application is saved in your own browser’s local storage so you can pause and resume; it is not transmitted to us until you press submit. Our visitor statistics are cookieless and do not identify individuals.
